Lisbon Wedding Photographer
Lisbon is a city of contrasts — steep, tiled hills tumbling down to the Tagus River, pastel-coloured buildings catching the late afternoon light, historic trams rattling through narrow streets, and viewpoints that open up over the entire city at once. As a wedding photographer based in Portugal, I've spent years learning where this city is at its most beautiful, and I bring that knowledge to every couple who chooses Lisbon as the backdrop for their wedding day.
Whether it's an intimate elopement in Alfama, a full wedding celebration overlooking the river, or a couples session as the sun sets over the rooftops, my approach stays the same: no forced poses, no stiff interruptions — just the day as it actually happens, captured honestly.
Photography is a way of feeling, of touching, of loving. What you have caught on film is captured forever.

Why Get Married in Lisbon
Lisbon has become one of Europe's most sought-after wedding destinations, and it's easy to see why. Couples are drawn to the city for:
- Alfama & the historic centre — narrow cobbled streets, azulejos, and views over the Tagus
- Miradouros (viewpoints) — golden hour light over the city's rooftops, from Senhora do Monte to Portas do Sol
- The Tagus riverside — from Cais das Colunas to the LX Factory area, industrial charm meeting the water
- Sintra, just outside the city — palaces, mist-covered forests, and dramatic architecture for couples who want fairytale portraits
- The Lisbon coast — Cascais and the Guincho beaches, for couples who want sea and cliffs as their backdrop
- A city that works year-round — mild weather and consistently beautiful light, even outside peak summer months
Lisbon also offers the practical advantages of an international airport, direct flights from the US, and a huge range of venues — from historic palaces to rooftop terraces — for couples travelling from abroad.
My Approach to Wedding Photography in Lisbon
With over 15 years photographing couples across Portugal, my style blends documentary storytelling with elegant, natural portraiture. I don't stage every moment — I follow the day as it unfolds: the walk down a narrow Alfama street, the reactions during the ceremony, the quiet moment shared at a rooftop bar as the city lights come on.
The goal is always the same: photographs that feel true today, and even more meaningful when you look back on them years from now.

Locations We Recommend in Lisbon
Choosing the right setting is a big part of telling your story well. Some of my favourite spots for portraits and ceremonies in Lisbon include the narrow streets of Alfama at golden hour, the miradouros overlooking the city and river, the riverside promenade near Cais das Colunas, and the colourful, artsy corners of LX Factory. For couples who want something more dramatic, Sintra's palaces and forests are less than an hour away, and Cascais offers dramatic coastal cliffs and beaches for a completely different mood.
Frequently Asked Questions
Do you photograph weddings and elopements in Lisbon? Yes. Lisbon is one of the destinations I photograph most often, covering weddings, elopements, and couples sessions throughout the city, along the coast, and in Sintra.
Can we combine our Lisbon wedding with a Sintra or Cascais session? Definitely. Many couples add a session in Sintra or Cascais — either before or after the wedding — to capture a different landscape as part of their story.
Do you work with international couples getting married in Lisbon? Yes, most of my couples travel from abroad. I'm experienced in coordinating remotely, working alongside wedding planners, and guiding couples through timeline and location planning ahead of the day.
What if it rains on our wedding day? Lisbon's light is beautiful even under clouds. I always come prepared with backup locations, from covered viewpoints to atmospheric indoor settings, so the weather never gets in the way of your story.
How do we book you for a wedding in Lisbon? Get in touch through the contact form with your date and venue, and I'll confirm availability and send over full details on collections and pricing.
Choosing Location
Decision on the location depends on the season, number of guests and your preferences. There are a lot of beautiful venues in the middle of the forest, on the sea side, near river.
If it Rains
This situation can be handled in different ways and rain will not ruin your wedding day and you’ll definetly have great pictures from this special day. In case of the open air ceremony you should arrange umbrellas for your guests. In case of the open air dinner, make sure to have a tent.
